WHAT
YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN RENEWING YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE
Your
license must be clear of any revocations or suspensions before you
will be allowed to renew. If you are told your license has been
blocked or has a flag on it, you must clear your record first.
If
your driver's license is not expired, you are required to surrender
it. You must present your social security card. Also, a vision test
is required before you can obtain a new driver's license.
If
your driver's license is expired 6 months or more, you will have
to pass a written test, in addition to the above. Study guides are
available at all motor vehicle offices for $2.00 each.
A
driving test is required, in addition to the above, if your license
has been expired two or more years. The vehicle you use for the
road test must have current insurance registration, and inspection
sticker, and pass inspection by the motor vehicle officer.
If
you lose your driver's license and wish to obtain a duplicate, you
will need one primary document and your social security card.
